The Panhandle Area Tournament Series was created by area coaches in 2002 in an attempt to promote and grow the number of junior tennis players in Amarillo and the surrounding area throughout the summer months.
The series begins the first weekend in June each year and culminates at the end of the summer with the naming of the Panhandle Area Tournament Series Champions.
Players earn points for each win in a PATS tournament. For more information regarding the points system, click here. For up-to-date points standings, click here.
Since its inception, the number of participants in summer tennis tournaments in the area has dramatically increased, and the series has gained state recognition for its success.Â
In 2020, it became mandatory for participants to have an account at Universal Tennis to play in PATS tournaments. For more information regarding the UTR component, click here.
